Le Système de Ponzi
The Ponzi Scheme
In 2008, when questioned about his fraud, Bernard Madoff declared: “in a nutshell, it was a Ponzi scheme”.
David Lescot immersed himself in swindler Charles Ponzi’s life story (1882 to 1949), now a down-and-out, now a millionaire, now a convict. He wrote an epic story in which music plays a predominant role, featuring a choir of comedians/musicians/singers. David Lescot gives us his opinion on swindlers: “Let us sentence them (in real life) while praising them (on stage) for being able to jam the machine and poetically breach reality. Let us also remember that the Ponzi scheme is ours after all.”
