Pierre Meunier presented Au milieu du désordre and Sexamor at the TNS, respectively in 2009 and 2010. He is back this season with his new creation. This time, he chooses to question words. As a matter of fact, we talk everyday, “produce” sounds, meaning, information. But what exactly are words? Are we enslaved by them or on the contrary, do they constitute our (maybe last) area of freedom? There are three men on stage. “Three, as in the trio of clowns consisting of the erudite speechifier, the stammering blunderer and the logician caught in his own spiral”, as Pierre Meunier puts it. François Chattot, who played Hamlet under the direction of Matthias Langhoff and Pierre-Yves Chapalain and narrated Joël Pommerat’s Pinocchio, will be his sidekick in this poetic and exhilarating quest.icism and crudeness allows for the questioning of a mutating society. Earthy and exuberant characters meet. Words and bodies spring up. Comic and violent situations follow one another as music becomes a full-fledged actor. Irène Bonnaud likes to work on intimate communities, for they show the true nature of humanity.
