2013 ADMISSIONS AND AUDITIONS

Admissions to the five sections of the TNS School (Acting, Directing, Dramatic arts, Stage management –theatre techniques, and scenography and costume design) is granted through auditions specific to each section. Auditions are held two years out of every three. The next auditions will take place in 2013 and 2014.

Each selected group of students includes between 10 and 12 students in the acting section, 4 to 6 students in stage management and technique, 2 to 4 students in scenography/ costume design, and 2 to 4 students in the directing and dramatic arts sections. The auditions for  the recruitment  of Group 42 (the 42nd group of students since the school was created) will take place in several rounds between January and June 2013.

Subscription forms will be available in October (2013) and have to be filled out before December 2013.

General conditions for admissions
• In order to pass the auditions for entry in the TNS School, students are required to have obtained the Baccalauréat or an equivalent diploma. Exemptions can be obtained after examination of the student’s case by an internal commission of the school.
• Applicants  to  the  Acting section   must  be able to prove they have previously followed drama classes or acting training for at least a year.
• Applicants can take the admission auditions in the different sections three times only. Applicants cannot apply to the auditions for different sections in the same year.
• No condition  of nationality  is imposed  but foreign applicants must be fluent in French.
• Minimum age requirements for application:
- for the Acting, Scenography and Costume design sections: applicants must be a minimum of 20 years of age and can be no older than 26 on the 1st of October 2013.
- for   the  Technical  Theatre  and  Stage management section, applicants must be a minimum of 18 years of age and can be no older than 26 on the 1st of October 2013.
- for   the  Directing  and  Dramatic  Arts sections, applicants must be a minimum of
21 years of age and can be no older than 27 on the 1st of October 2013.

Applying for auditions
Applicants must fill out the application form specific to the chosen section they wish to apply for on the TNS website. Those application forms will be available for download on the
1st of October, 2013. Included on the form is a detailed description of the audition process relative to every section (with the calendar and contents of auditions, etc...).
In order to be registered for auditions, applicants must pay a non refundable subscription fee of 72 euros and return their duly completed application form before the deadline of the 15th of December 2012. A reduced subscription of 36 euros is applicable for scholarship-holder students (on presentation of written proof).
